Honestly, when I see the hummingbirds, which I do frequently, they go to the feeder. But they flit here and there so quickly, and I think they would like this flower too. It’s tall and red. And incidentally, the salvia flowers last until there’s a frost.
Oh, that’s exciting. And yes, the situation at the feeder gets more complicated as the summer winds down. Ants have a trail to the feeder that I couldn’t possibly deter.
My ants crawled up from a draw string from a wind spinner bench across the porch rafters to the sting holding the feeder, it was amazing the rout they followed 🐜

Yes, I give up on the ants. As long as they go somewhere other than inside my house.
